Pro-Tent supports the premier league of competitive woodcutting
In Switzerland, the wood chips will be flying again in June. The premier competition in competitive woodcutting, the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Series, offers spectators and fans thrilling contests featuring razor-sharp axes, saws, and plenty of firewood. As the official sponsor of the Swiss Championships in Montreux, Pro‑Tent ensures that the event doesn’t literally fall through by providing weatherproof pavilions.
Months of preparation go into the event before the call goes out: “Hands on the wood!” At the annual training camp in Luthern in the canton of Lucerne, experienced professional coaches recently prepared young up-and-coming athletes for the big competition. The subsequent qualifying competition also served as the preliminary round for the Swiss Championship.
On June 17 and 18, the athletes will face off in the competitions—each featuring three axe and three saw disciplines: Springboard, Underhand Chop, Standing Block Chop, as well as Single Buck, STIHL Stock Saw, and Hot Saw. The toughest opponent, however, is time: in the end, fractions of a second determine victory or defeat. Thanks to the premium Swiss folding tents from Pro-Tent, at least the weather won’t be the final opponent, and the smooth running of this mega-event can be guaranteed in all weather conditions.
